Try the Spoon Guru App . Simply scan foods labels and the app will alert you of any concerns based upon your (or your family member's) preset profile. Recycle Your Own Aluminum!

Check your local area for scrap metal recyclers that accept non-commercial customers. Call around or browse online. If you can find such a business nearby, it could be worthwhile for you to recycle your own aluminum, whether or not recycling pickup is offered as a municipal service. (Only recycle items without a direct resell value via municipal service.)

Scrap metal recyclers generally pay cash for aluminum, by the pound.

HINT: The price fluctuates based on a number of factors, like market glut, but expect it to go UP if America is involved in a Trade War and there are tariffs on aluminum imports (like now).

If your household purchases products that often come in aluminum containers (think cans) like sodas or beer, setup a separate household recycling bin for aluminum only and when you collect a decent amount take it in to a scrap metal recycler yourself to recoup some of the money you've spent on the beverages or whatever.

You could end up with a nice chunk of change in your pocket while still doing good (recycling).
